Definitely too bitter, but hopefully this will mellow out after some time. The dry hopping is actually decent - this may counteract the bitterness a little bit. Not the best I've ever made, but quite quaffable nonetheless. | |

We finished the last of this about two weeks ago - the overly bitter character was completely gone and it tasted just right. The dry-hopping was good on this one, but the "wild" hops added a grassy note that I don't usually think of in bitters. I thought it was nice, but not representative of the style. All around solid, but not killer. |
Mash Style: Extract
Brew Style: Extra Special/Strong Bitter (English Pale Ale)
Ingredients for 5 gallons (19 L):
- 6.6 Amber Malt
- 1.5 Zeus Hops, Bittering
- 1 Fuggle Hops, Flavorings
Instructions:
Special bitter (I'm not sure it's Extra special, but we'll see).
