Abbey Singel

brewed 2009-01-05 Brewed with Freeman - I accidentally flushed my airlock while sanitizing, so the first night was spent with a cork as a dust-cover before I could get a new one. Hopefully no infection! Show Edit
comment 2009-01-12 Still no fermenting bubbles... I don't know if that's the dry yeast or the 24 hours spent without an airlock... I'm going to give it another day and then get replacement wet yeast from the wine and hop shop. Show Edit
comment 2009-01-16 I took a hydrometer reading today and the ale is down to 1.010, which means it has been fermenting. There must not have been a perfect seal with the airlock. I'll bottle this soon so it doesn't get exposed to the air after I opened it to check, but probably not tonight. Show Edit
bottled 2009-01-19 I skipped racking and went to bottling - 1/2 into the pig and then into a few 20's and 12's. To mix the priming sugar I had to stir the fermenter, which meant that a lot of trub that was on the bottom and hadn't been racked off got stirred up. I didn't stir what went into the pig, so hopefully that should be good at least. This batch was definitely not my best showing - let's see how it tastes... Show Edit
